Shkoder – Day 1

First walkabout in Shkoder, Albania. I stop in Nam and have breakfast. It’s one of the few places open.

In case you’re wondering how much restaurant food costs here, well here you go. A lek is 100 = $1.24.

After breakfast, I went to the Photo Museum, I walked around for a few minutes only to discover it was right across from where I had breakfast. Duh.

Photography from the same family members here goes back hundred years.

After the photo museum, I walked over the the history museum.

This was at the museum but later in the day I walked by a tailor shop and they had something similar for sale. Were I not luggage weight constrained, I would have bought one.

This is what the women used to wear because I haven’t seen anyone wear this here in Shkoder.

These are urns for the dead.

Later in the evening I went and had a fabulous 26 course meal. It was good but Indont want to make you jealous so an empty table is all you get.

Got an early start tomorrow and I got blaring music coming in right through the shutters and doible pain glass in my apartment.
