Tbilisi – Day 2 homer, September 2, 2026 First real day in Tbilisi and it’s time to hit the museums. First up Georgian National Museum. The museum had the first floor shut down and the second floor was mostly dedicated to Mose Toidze and Niko Pirosmanashvili. Both are great artists and their art often reflects somberness of their circumstances. Dark colors and hues, sad faces, and art seeking light. Next up was a far more interesting and art filled gallery, Georgia Museum of Fine Arts. I had no idea there were so many amazing works of art hidden in this museum. I may go back before I move on from Georgia! After the museum I went to the local mall to buy socks, the street in front of it is all torn up but down at the corner this golden horse statue and in the far distance in between the green trees to the right of the golden horse is the Mother of Georgia, Kartlis Deda.
