Tirana – Day 7

Today was dedicated to a day trip to Lake Bovilla. This lake is an artificial reservoir built to provide water for Tirana. We stopped here on the way there, and we were warned not to get on the “bridge” and try to take photos.

This is the “bridge” (image below). It’s basically two wooden planks held by a longer tree branch.

This is a shot of the damn and the base of the lake.

We got dropped off about 1/3 of the way to the top so we had to hike it.

If you look closely at the center of the image, you will see the platform when the “tourists” climbed up. I opted to go to a hidden perch and that’s where I took this photo. It’s almost as high as that platform but I was the only one here.

When I looked around, I saw this person trying to climb up the mountain. I thought she was alone but there is someone helping her down below behind the tree.

And this is the view that I had all to myself.

And then the rain came but I was prepared.

It was definitely worth it to go hang out on the mountain top overlooking the lake. Since this trip went well, I’m thinking of going to North Macedonia. Stay tuned….
