Helsinki – Day 2 homer, July 17, 2026 Second day in Helsinki and we’re taking it a bit slower. First stop, Uspenski Cathedral. Orthodox church with lots of history. Lots of sacred and historically significant items. You can read more here. Interior of the church looking up. After our visit to the church we walked a block over to the Flyover ride and we chose to do two shows, the Flyover Finland and Flyover Helsinki. The 3D show was great, you fly all over Finland from lakes to mountains, rivers and forests. The ride features misting water system to you get a full sense of flying through the locations. After the ride we stopped at a French cafe for coffee and pasties. What else do you do at a French cafe? Exquisite Pastries After our brief snack we headed to the Kaisaniemi Botanical Gardens. Took about a hundred photos but not going to put them all here! After the botanical gardens we wandered back to the Market Square where the signs below caught our eye. Reindeer fried rice? Moose dumplings? Why not? This is what it looks like, the orange tinge is because that’s the color of the tent stall over our heads. The food was ok but we probably won’t be eating moose or reindeer again. We took a break back at our hotel then headed out to dinner at a Sushi dinner buffet. The food was good but not great. As we walked back to the hotel, we stopped at a supermarket to buy some water and snacks for the long day tomorrow. Finished the day off with a churro snack at Superterassi! Uncategorized
