We Are In Finland!

Summer is here and we are doing a tour of the Baltics! After a nightmarish flight we finally landed in Helsinki. Our luggage decided to take a later flight so we opted to take the train from Helsinki Airport instead of an Uber. The Uber would have cost $35 but the train was $11.

After getting settled in our hotel, we walked around and discovered a party happening right down the street. Not sure what Superterassi 2026 is all about but we decided to stop by and check it out.

After the plaza, we headed down to the boardwalk and looked over the various stalls selling farm fresh goods and some cooked treats.

The cooked treats made us hungry so we walked to a nearby restaurant called Victor’s Krog. The menu only has a few limited items but what caught our attention was the salmon soup which was on our to do list. A nice bonus was the appetizer below made of malt bread topped with shrimp, pickled onions, roe, and a creamy sauce that was heavenly.

The salmon soup was also delicious. Will need to eat this soup again before leaving the Baltic states.

We have a full agenda for tomorrow but we now have the issue of waiting for our luggage to be delivered so we’ll see how that pans out.
